Follow a programme through the archive

The A–Z brings together programmes already represented in The Classic TV Archive. Open an entry to see the material available for that show, which may include articles, historical features or other relevant editorial content. Coverage varies by programme: an entry is a route into existing archive material, not a promise of a complete episode guide or collection of every related article.

Questions about the Shows A–Z

How do I find a programme by name?

Browse the alphabetical groups and look under the programme’s title. If you know only part of the name, try the site search as well.

Does every programme have its own entry?

No. The A–Z includes programmes already represented in the archive; it is not a complete directory of British or American television.

What will I find on a programme entry?

An entry connects you with the archive material available for that programme. This may include articles or television-history features, depending on what has been published.

What if the programme I want is missing?

Try searching for an alternative title or a key word. If there is still no result, the programme may not currently be represented in the archive.

Are programme entries and articles the same thing?

Not necessarily. The A–Z helps you locate a programme; its entry can then point you towards relevant existing articles or other editorial material.
